Gangland was written by David DeFalco and directed by Art Camacho. The film has a run time of 1 hour 30 minutes, is in both the action and the sci-fi genres and stars Costas Mandylor, Sasha Mitchell, Ice-T, Tim Tomerson and Artis Ivey. The film is set in a post apocalyptic city that is being taken over by a gang of thugs led by the a psychopath named Lucifer, played by Vincent Klyn. A world wide nuclear war has destroyed civilization, there is little hope as only 2 former policemen, played by Ice-T and Coolio, do their best to maintain some form of order.
A plague is decimating what remains of the city, but, a Dr. Adams, played by Tim Tomerson, may have found a cure. Hearing of the cure, the thugs who have named themselves Ganglanders, kidnap Dr. Adams, hoping to be able to gain control of the entire city by using the cure as their weapon to make everyone follow their lead.
Along comes the former soldier, Jared who is played by Costas Mandylor. He had a wife and children killed by the Ganglanders, leaving him with a desire for retribution. The soldier meets a pair of expert martial artists Derek and Alexis, played by Sasha Mitchell and Kathleen Kinmont respectively, they decide to join forces in an effort to bring down the evil Lucifer, put an end to the Ganglander reign of terror and get the cure to save the dying city.
The unlikely trio, of Jared, Derek and Alexis, begin a campaign of revenge against the Ganglanders. They even get some help from the two former police officers, as they seek to save the scientist, get the cure to save the city and extract justice, or at the least some bloody vengence, for all the Ganglander atrocities.
Gangland was released in 2001 and is rated R for language, violence and some nudity.
