This movie is based on Ken Bruen's crime noir novel of the same name written in 2001. The story begins with convicted felon Harry Mitchel being released from prison and propositioned by his pal and partner-in-crime, Billy Norton. Billy offers Harry a posh apartment, if he agrees to work for his criminal boss, who happens to be London's underground crime lord. When Harry saves a woman named Penny on his way to his "welcome back" party from being mugged she offers him a job to help her reclusive retired actress friend, Charlotte. However, Billy's boss is not happy with Harry's legitimate new gig.
