Mike Gambril, who's a retired famous football player, accidentally falls in love with a aspiring singer named Terry McKay. They probably wouldn't have even talked or notice each other if it weren't for their plane making an emergency stop. Mike likes Terry so much he takes her with him to go visit his aunt. After the visit Terry and Mike both realize they want to be with each other forever. So they decide to both end their relationships back home in order to be together.

Mike and Terry both promised each other they would meet in a couple months on the Empire State building. When it's finally time for them to meet each other and start their future together, Terry doesn't show up and Mike is heart broken.
