Watch Making Mr. Right
- 1 hr 26 min
Desperate to raise sales, editor of Manhattan Line magazine Hallie Galloway develops a publicity stunt: an auction of New York's best bachelors. Winners of the auction are taken on romantic dates by the bachelor. If this doesn't work, Hallie's job will be at risk. On a lunch outing, Hallie and her co-worker Christine come across a very rough-looking con man named Eddie. Hallie and Christine play his shell game, and after Christine wins, she mentions that it would be very interesting to transform a scruffy street man into an eligible New York bachelor for their project. Eddie owes money to a man named Angelo, but believes he'll win back the money on a horse race. When his horse is bested by a horse named Hallie, Eddie thinks Hallie Galloway has jinxed him. He decides to go confront her at his office, where he is quickly caught up in a bet between Hallie and her rival for promotion, George. George bets Hallie that she can't make Eddie over into a prize-winning bachelor at the auction. The competition is on. Hallie goes to the nines to change Eddie into a sophisticated and intelligent New York man. Haircuts, social training, and a fantastic wardrobe are part of the deal. As Hallie transforms Eddie, she's changing her own life as well. She's learning to be flexible and to take life as it comes. Eddie is gaining skills and poise he needs to get off the street and start a more respectable life. At the same time, romance develops. Of course the path to love is never easy, and Eddie and Hallie's blossoming romance is hindered by her past relationships and Eddie's rough exterior. This makeover romance features Dean Cain as the charming Eddie, and Christina Cox as editor Hallie Galloway. Jocelyne Loewen plays eccentric gal pal Christine. Making Mr. Right premiered on Lifetime TV on in February of 2008. The film was released on DVD in January of 2011.
