Michael Clayton is a 2008 legal thriller film that starred George Clooney, Tilda Swinton, Sydney Pollack, Tom Wilkinson and Terry Serpico and Robert Prescott. The film is constructed in a non-linear narrative fashion, featuring events out of sequence. Michael Clayton, Clooney, is a fixer, a man who uses his knowledge of the legal system, specifically those of loop holes in various laws, and persuasion to help rich clients of the high end law firm in New York where he works. He helps a rich client involved in a hit and run and then drives despondantly to a field where he sees some wild horses roaming. Enchanted, he gets out of his car to approach them, when he can almost touch them, the car explodes and he is suddenly aware that someone has put out a hit on his life. The film then cuts back to several days earlier to explain what set up these strange and deadly series of events. They involve a corrupt corporation, two hit men, a eccentric former friend and master class lawyer, played by Tom Wilkinson, and his son and brother, an ex-junkie who Michael went into business with.
