Singhasan is a Hindi drama film, released in 1986, directed by K. Ravi Shankar and starring Bharat Bhushan, Leena Das, and Gulshan Grover. The movie revolves around the life of a young man, Vijay (played by Bharat Bhushan), who rises to power and becomes the king of his village. The movie starts with Vijay, a college student who lives with his father and sister, leading a simple life in the village. He is a kind-hearted soul who is loved by everyone in the village, including the local zamindar, Thakur Badal Singh (played by Om Shivpuri). However, when Thakur Singh tries to molest Vijay's sister, he takes matters into his own hands and beats up Thakur Singh. This leads to a feud between Vijay and Thakur Singh, with the latter trying to harm Vijay and his family in retaliation.

In the meantime, Vijay's father passes away, leaving him and his sister alone. Vijay takes up odd jobs to support his family while trying to find a permanent source of income. His luck changes when he saves the life of a wealthy businessman, Seth Karamchand (played by Jagdeep), during a road accident. Seth Karamchand is grateful to Vijay and offers him a job in his factory. Vijay works hard at the job and impresses Seth, who promotes him to a higher position.

As Vijay rises through the ranks in the factory, he becomes more confident and ambitious. He falls in love with Geeta (played by Leena Das), the daughter of another wealthy businessman and sets his sights on achieving great things in life. However, Thakur Singh continues to be a thorn in his side, and a political conspiracy against him threatens to derail his dreams of success.

The movie has several subplots, including Vijay's relationship with his sister, Geeta's father's opposition to their relationship, and the political conspiracy against Vijay. These subplots are woven into the main narrative seamlessly, making for a compelling and engaging story.

The acting in the movie is top-notch, with Bharat Bhushan giving a stellar performance as Vijay. He captures the character's transition from an innocent young man to a wealthy and powerful businessman effectively. Leena Das is also excellent as Geeta, bringing charm and elegance to the role. Gulshan Grover as Thakur Singh is convincing as the villain of the movie, adding a layer of menace to the story.

The music in the movie is delightful, with the songs seamlessly blending into the narrative. The songs are a mix of romantic numbers, such as "Tere Bina Main Nahi" and "Dheere Dheere", and patriotic songs, such as "Mere Desh Ki Dharti" and "Jahan Daal Daal Pe Sone Ki Chidiya". The music is composed by Ravindra Jain, who has done an excellent job of capturing the mood and tone of the movie.

Overall, Singhasan is a well-made movie that is both entertaining and thought-provoking. It touches on themes such as love, sacrifice, ambition, and political corruption, making for a multi-layered story. The movie is a must-watch for fans of Hindi cinema, as well as anyone interested in a well-crafted drama.
