Stick Man is an animated movie based on a popular children's book by Julia Donaldson. The film is a holiday movie and it is appropriate for people of all ages. Stick Man lives in his family tree with his lady love and his three children. All of them are "stick people", like animated branches of a tree or walking twigs. Stick Man goes out for a jog one day and meets a little boy. The boy decides to play fetch with his dog, using poor Stick Man as the toy. Even worse, Stick Man is used by children to play another game and then a swan uses him to be part of a nest it is building on a beach. Each of these events take Stick Man farther away from his home and his stick family. Stick Man has to undertake an epic adventure to return home in time for Christmas. Along the way he helps people, makes new friends, and may even have a run-in with Santa Claus himself. Each of Stick Man's encounters involves people mistaking him for an ordinary stick. Stick Man can't understand quite why people don't understand who or what he is. Throughout the ordeal, Stick Man never loses hope and his love for his family never wavers. Each time he overcomes an obstacle or triumphs over adversity he calls out, "I'm Stick Man! I'm Stick Man! I'm Stick Man! That's me!" The dialogue and narration tend to rhyme throughout the film, as it does in the book.
