This silent drama sees Francois Villon chosen as the King of Fools by a crowd in Paris as they celebrate All Fools Day. The poet and patriot of France uses his skills to make a joke at the expense of a local aristocrat, which sees him banished from Paris by King Louis XI. However, Villon remains in the city and becomes a favorite of the King as he begins a relationship with a member of court betrothed to somebody else. Villon uncovers a plot against the King that threatens the lives of those he holds dearest.
