The Kentucky Fried Movie
- 1 hr 30 min
"The Kentucky Fried Movie" is a 90 minute comedy film from 1977 whose entire running time consists entirely of various movie-related comedy sketches that have almost no relationship to each other. With the exception of its parody martial arts film "A Fistful of Yen," which is slightly over half an hour in length, the other 26 sketches ranges between four seconds to slightly over six minutes in length. Badly dubbed martial arts flicks, evening news stories, diaster films, blaxploitation, women-in-prison, gimmick-centric films, commercials, and even television programs, are included among the material parodied in The Kentucky Fried Movie. Despite being released in 1977, The Kentucky Fried Movie did not receive a DVD release until the year 2000, courtesy of Anchor Bay Entertainment. Arrow Video handled a special two-disc DVD a year later, and "Shout! Factory" produced a Blu-ray version of the film with several of the special features seen in the Arrow Video version. While directed by John Landis, the film was written by the Zucker brothers, and features the acting talents of Bill Bixby, George Lazenby, and Donald Sutherland.
