The Kid: Chamaco

This hard-boiled sports drama, directed and co written by Miguel Necoechea and written by Carl Bessai and Kirk Harris, follows the story of a inspired but underdog street kid who is helped in his dream to become a professional boxer by a professional boxer's doctor brother. The film stars Martin Sheen (Apocalypse Now), Kirk Harris, Álex Perea, Danny Perea, Sofía Espinosa, Michael Madsen (Renegade, Reservoir Dogs), Gustavo Sánchez Parra, Christian Vasquez, Raúl Méndez, Daniel Evangelista and lastly, Damayanti Quintanar. In Mexico, a down and out, but once famed professional boxer named Jimmy trains with his kind and wizened brother in preperation for his big comeback. While their Jimmy meets Abner, a poor but upbeat young Mexican boxer working for a abusive father. Together they learn about boxing and through it, valuable lessons about life.
