The Pacifier

"Welcome to the infantry."

The Pacifier is about a U.S. Navy Seal who is assigned to save Howard Plummer who is working a secret project called GHOST. While boarding an escape helicopter they are both shot. Howard does not survive and the Navy Seal Shane Wolfe spends months in the hospital recovering. When the wife of Howard is escorted to receive a lock box Howard left behind, Shane is given orders to watch over their children. Even with the help of the nanny, none of the kids seem to listen to poor Shane who has not had many encounters with children.

When one of the pranks the kids pulls goes wrong, the nanny resigns and leaves Shane all alone to try and learn how to take care of the kids and their pet duck all on his own. Shane finds Lulu with her troupe of Fireflies (like Girl Scouts) at the kitchen table who are then interrupted by a house party that Zoe and her boyfriend throw. Shane makes the guests clean their mess before they leave which leads to Zoe angrily yell at him.

They are shortly after attacked by ninjas and when the ninjas are gone they start to get into a routine. The school principal brings to Shane's attention that Seth has dyed his hair blonde, skipped wrestling practice, and has a Nazi armband stashed in his locker. When Shane follows Seth, he finds out that Seth has joined a production of the Sound of Music, in which the original director quits.

Shane begins juggling many tasks trying to keep the house in order. He teaches Lulu and the Fireflies martial arts, he directs the sound of music play, and even teaches Zoe to drive.

Later they receive a phone call from the kids mother stating she is on her way home with a key that was in the lock-box. When she and Shane's boss arrives, Shane begins to confess that he is thinking of a change of careers when his box then knocks him unconscious.

When the children escape they wake up Shane who sends them get help while he saves his mother. In the end, the day is saved by Shane, the kids, and their mother.
