The Tenants is a crime drama film that was released in 2005. The film involves two men who are living in a rundown abandoned tenement building. The first man is a Jewish novelist who has been living in the building and also has been working on a novel for over ten years. He is joined by a militant African-American who moves into a different part of the building, and interestingly enough he is also working on a manifesto. The two end up developing a strong friendship and work together in order to finish their works. However, differences between them end up creating a large amount of conflict, and they have to resolve their deep seated ideological beliefs in order to preserve their friendship.

The Tenants was written and directed by Danny Lee, and adapted for the screen with the help of David Diamond. The film is based on a novel written by Bernard Malamud. The Jewish novelist is played by Dylan McDermott, and Snoop Dog plays the militant African-American.
