True Memoirs of an International Assassin is a 2016 action-comedy film directed by Jeff Wadlow and starring Kevin James, Kim Coates, and Maurice Compte. The movie follows the story of Sam Larson, a mild-mannered writer who unwittingly gets tangled up in a dangerous world of international espionage and assassination. Sam Larson is a struggling writer who dreams of publishing his first novel but always seems to come up short. To make ends meet, he takes on a job as a freelance writer for an online publisher. One day, while researching his next project, Sam accidentally stumbles upon a dark and dangerous conspiracy involving a powerful drug cartel in Venezuela. His article goes viral and before he knows it, he is kidnapped by a group of mercenaries who mistake him for an international assassin.

Sam finds himself in the middle of a world he never imagined, full of guns, explosions, and life-threatening danger. He is forced to play the role of the assassin, Carlos El Veneno, and work with the mercenaries to take down the drug cartel. Meanwhile, back in the United States, Sam's publisher has printed his article as non-fiction, causing an uproar and making him an instant celebrity.

As Sam gets deeper into his role as Carlos El Veneno, he starts to question whether he has what it takes to be an assassin. He struggles with the morality of killing people and the consequences of his actions. He also becomes torn between his allegiance to the mercenaries and his desire to get back home to his girlfriend, who he realizes he loves more than anything.

Throughout the movie, there are plenty of thrilling action scenes, including car chases, shootouts, and hand-to-hand combat. The humor is also abundant, as Kevin James delivers his trademark brand of physical comedy, along with some clever one-liners and sight gags.

The supporting cast is also on point, with Kim Coates and Maurice Compte delivering solid performances as the grizzled mercenaries who take Sam under their wing. Zulay Henao shines as Sam's girlfriend, who provides the emotional anchor to Sam's comedic hijinks.

Overall, True Memoirs of an International Assassin is an entertaining popcorn flick that delivers plenty of laughs and action. While it may not be the most original movie out there, it's still a fun ride that is sure to please fans of the action-comedy genre.
