White Mile is a 1994 drama film that tells the story of a corporate team-building trip gone wrong. The movie is directed by Robert Butler and stars Alan Alda, Peter Gallagher, and Robert Loggia. The plot of the film revolves around Dan Cutler (played by Peter Gallagher), a young executive who is trying to climb the ladder at his company. He accompanies his boss, Frank, and six other colleagues on a team-building rafting trip down the Cahulawassee River in Georgia.

The trip is led by veteran river guide, John MacIntyre (played by Alan Alda), who very quickly makes it clear that he is not there to be their friend, but rather to teach them about teamwork and leadership through the rigors of white-water rafting.

As the group navigates the rough rapids of the Cahulawassee, tensions rise amongst the members, and they begin to clash over various issues. MacIntyre tries to keep everyone on task and force them to work together, but as the days pass, things begin to spiral out of control.

The situation goes from bad to worse when, during a particularly treacherous stretch of rapids, one of the rafts flips over, and two of the team members are swept downstream. The group is forced to halt their trip and search for their missing colleagues.

As the search and rescue mission continues, the group begins to turn on one another, each blaming the other for what happened. Frank, in particular, is quick to point fingers and start assigning blame, causing even more dissension among the group.

The tension between the members comes to a head in a dramatic and tense scene in which they must decide whether to abandon their search for their colleagues or continue on, risking their own safety.

Throughout the film, we see flashbacks of Dan's personal life, including his relationship with his wife and child, and his struggles with his mental health. These flashbacks give us a deeper understanding of his character and his motivations.

Overall, White Mile is a gripping and intense drama that explores the themes of leadership, teamwork, and trust. The performances are strong, particularly from Alan Alda, who brings a sense of gravitas to his role as the experienced river guide. The script is well-written, and the pacing of the film keeps the tension high throughout. Fans of character-driven dramas and survival stories will find plenty to enjoy in White Mile.

White Mile is a 1994 drama with a runtime of 1 hour and 35 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.8.
