Y Tu Mama Tambien
- 1 hr 45 min
This is an impromptu road trip with an odd menage: two lusty teen-aged boys, Julio (played by heartthrob Gael Garcia Bernal), Tenoch (Diego Luna), and the older, married Luisa (Spain's Maribel Verdu), as they bounce along Mexico's pitted highways and dusty back roads, seeking an imaginary beach called Boca del Cielo (Mouth of Heaven). The trio entertains themselves with stories of their sexual histories. The boys brag of their adventures, while the more experienced Luisa, having suffered real erotic losses, is more circumspect. As they approach the Pacific Ocean they find a secluded cove, which serves as their own Mouth of Heaven. There, in a musty rented room, the trio has a night of revelations, leaving each to absorb the lessons afforded by their journey into the unknown. This richly-rewarded 2001 Mexican film (nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the Academy Awards, and Best Foreign Language film at the Golden Globes) had the highest grossing opening weekend in the history of Mexico.
