In the seventh episode of the fourth season of A Crime to Remember, titled "Killer Prophet," viewers are transported back to the 1960s when a gruesome string of murders took place in Omaha, Nebraska. The episode begins with the discovery of a headless and handless body found in a cornfield on May 5, 1968. With little evidence to go on, detectives are left scratching their heads, wondering who could have committed such a heinous act.

As the investigation unfolds, detectives soon realize that this is not just a one-off murder, but the work of a serial killer that has been operating in the area for some time. With each new victim, the killer seems to be becoming bolder and more brazen, leaving behind cryptic clues that only serve to further confuse the authorities.

Soon, a pattern starts to emerge, linking all of the victims together. They were all young, attractive women, most of whom had worked as prostitutes or in other sex-related industries. The killer seemed to have a deep-seated hatred for these women, and was using their bodies as a way to send a message to the rest of society.

Despite their best efforts, the police are unable to catch the killer, and it seems as though he is always one step ahead of them. However, a break in the case finally comes when a man named Martin Ray Krugman is arrested for a separate crime and confesses to being the Omaha serial killer.

Krugman, who styles himself as a prophet, claims that he was instructed by God to rid the world of "impure" women. He tells detectives that he viewed his victims as "gifts" to God, and that he was doing the Lord's work by killing them.

The episode goes on to explore the twisted psyche of Krugman, who seemed to be a deeply disturbed individual. Interviews with those who knew him reveal that he was always something of an oddball, often talking about his mission to rid the world of sinners and 'evil-doers.' Nobody really took him seriously, however, until it became clear just how far he was willing to go in order to achieve his twisted goals.

In the end, Krugman is found guilty of the murders and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. However, his legacy lives on, and the episode ends with a haunting reminder that there are those out there who view themselves as above the law, and who will go to any length to fulfill their twisted desires.

Overall, "Killer Prophet" is a chilling and thought-provoking episode that is sure to leave viewers with a sense of unease. The episode does an excellent job of exploring the dark and twisted mind of a serial killer, while also providing a sobering reminder of the danger that lurks in our society.
