Ah! My Goddess Season 1 Episode 16 Ah! Captivated by a Goddess?

Keiichi and Belldandy go out on a date in a park. Keiichi is happy to be with her but is also nervous and distracted since he is unsure of how to act on the date. Meanwhile, Hild, a powerful demon, observes them from a distance and decides to unleash her latest plan to separate them. To achieve this she asks her henchman, Tamiya, to make a trap for Keiichi, which will capture his shadow, so Belldandy can no longer see him.

The plan works and Keiichi's shadow is captured, causing him to disappear, much to Belldandy's shock. She realizes something isn't right and upon investigating the scene, discovers the trap, the largest anti-shadow trap in the world, set by Hild. After informing the gang about the situation, Urd suggests that the trap could be used as a tool for locating Keiichi's shadow instead of a trap for his destruction.

Belldandy and Urd infiltrate Hild's "resort" to find Keiichi's shadow. Meanwhile, Skuld is left with the task to monitor the situation and make sure that the trap doesn't catch anyone else's shadow. As they start their search, they come across Tamiya, who has been ordered to capture the shadow of other women in order to lure Keiichi’s shadow, but fails miserably.

Having no other options, Belldandy takes a big risk, entrusting her body and soul to Urd and contacts Hild, offering to give up her goddess powers in exchange for Keiichi's shadow. Hild agrees but only if Belldandy wins an "entertainment" competition. The competition begins, it is Belldandy and Urd versus Hild, one at a time.

Their first challenge is a cooking competition, in which Urd, having a lot of experience with human food, wins hands down. The second challenge is disguise and mimicry. Hild, having the power to transform, wins the challenge easily, but mainly because Urd doesn't take the challenge seriously.

Third challenge is fortune telling. Belldandy has the power, but as a goddess, she can’t use it without permission from Kami-sama, however, she takes the risk and uses her power to make a prediction with Hild expecting her to be incorrect. But to her surprise, Belldandy's prediction is correct and she wins the challenge. The final challenge is a race which Hild wins but ultimately, Keiichi's shadow is released, and the exchange is made.

But before leaving, Hild asks a favor of Belldandy- to look after the half-demon child of Hild's daughter, Celsia. Belldandy agrees and takes the child under her care. Keiichi's shadow is also returned, and Keiichi returns to normal. With the incident over, the group returns home happily, with Belldandy reflecting on how she almost lost Keiichi and how much she loves him.
