Zoroku is a kind-hearted but gruff old man who is initially startled by Sana's appearance but quickly takes her under his wing. Sana is wary of Zoroku at first, but he quickly gains her trust by treating her with kindness and respect.

Sana quickly learns that the world outside of the laboratory is full of wonders and dangers that she has never experienced before. She is fascinated by the people she meets, and she begins to understand that there is more to life than just surviving. However, Sana is also pursued by the laboratory staff, who are determined to recapture her and take her back to their facility.

Overall, the first episode of Alice & Zoroku is a thrilling and emotional introduction to the series.
