After a tense and exciting first episode, AOKANA: Four Rhythm Across the Blue keeps the excitement going with episode two. In "Udon," we follow Asuka Kurashina as she tries to adjust to her new life in Tokyo. Asuka is a talented Flying Circus player who has moved to the big city in hopes of improving her skills and competing at a higher level.
However, things don't go quite as planned for Asuka. She quickly learns that adjusting to life in the big city is easier said than done. Asuka's first challenge comes in the form of her new roommate, Misaki Tobisawa. Misaki is a bit of a neat freak, and Asuka finds herself struggling to keep up with her roommate's impossibly high cleanliness standards.
Asuka's troubles don't end there. She soon discovers that she's not the only Flying Circus player in town. In fact, there's a whole team of Flying Circus players at her school, including Masaya Hinata, who just so happens to be the top player in Japan.
Despite her initial struggles, Asuka remains determined to improve her skills and compete at the highest level. She spends countless hours practicing with her new teammates, trying to learn as much as she can about the game and its many intricacies.
Asuka's hard work pays off when she's given the opportunity to compete in a Flying Circus tournament. However, her excitement is short-lived when she learns that her opponent in the first round of the tournament is none other than Masaya Hinata himself.
The episode builds to an exciting climax as Asuka and Masaya face off in a high-stakes Flying Circus match. As the two players soar through the sky, the tension mounts, and it seems as though anything could happen.
Overall, "Udon" is a fantastic second episode of AOKANA: Four Rhythm Across the Blue. It's a great continuation of the series' strong start, building on the characters and relationships established in the first episode while also introducing some exciting new elements. Asuka Kurashina is a fantastic protagonist, and her struggles to adjust to life in Tokyo make for some great drama. The Flying Circus matches in this episode are also particularly well-done, with some thrilling action sequences and great animation.
If you're a fan of sports anime or just looking for an exciting new series to watch, AOKANA: Four Rhythm Across the Blue is definitely worth checking out. And with an episode as strong as "Udon," it's clear that the series is only going to get better from here on out.
