Archer Season 8 Episode 1 No Good Deed

In the first episode of Archer's eighth season, titled "No Good Deed," the hilarious and former ISIS agent Sterling Archer wakes up in a dreamland where he is living his life as a private investigator in 1947 Los Angeles. No longer known as Archer, he is now called "Dreamland" and has the demeanor of a film noir character, complete with fedora and trenchcoat.

The story starts when a mysterious woman arrives at Archer's office and hires him to find her kidnapped husband. With the aid of his trusty partner-in-crime, Figgis, Archer sets out to track down the husband and rescue him from his captors.

As he begins investigating the case, it quickly becomes apparent that this is not a simple kidnapping. Archer discovers that the husband, a scientist by trade, was working on a top-secret project for the government, and several interested parties - including an enigmatic crime boss named Mother - are determined to get their hands on it.

As Dreamland continues his investigation, he runs afoul of a colorful cast of characters, including a crooked cop, a wealthy socialite, and an assortment of lowlifes and gangsters. Through it all, Dreamland maintains his trademark snarky attitude and dry wit, even as he navigates the treacherous and often violent world of 1940s Los Angeles.

The episode is filled with all of the hallmarks that Archer fans have come to love, including clever writing, razor-sharp dialogue, and a healthy dose of irreverent humor. The retro setting and film noir vibe lend the show a new dimension, while still delivering the same great comic timing and character-based humor that has made Archer a fan favorite.
