Fullmetal Alchemist is an anime series that aired on Adult Swim in 2003-2004. It is based on the manga of the same name by Hiromu Arakawa. The show takes place in a fictional world where alchemy is a science that allows practitioners to manipulate matter to create objects and structures. The story follows two young brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric, who have been trying to use alchemy to bring their deceased mother back to life.

The series follows the Elric brothers as they go on a journey to find the Philosopher's Stone, an artifact said to amplify the powers of alchemy to a tremendous degree. They believe that by using the stone, they can bypass the laws of alchemy, which state that to create something, an equivalent must be given in exchange. The brothers are on this mission because of their past, in which they attempted to resurrect their mother but instead paid a terrible price. Edward lost his right arm and left leg, while Alphonse lost his entire body and had his soul bound to a suit of armor.

The show is often dark and dramatic, tackling themes of grief, loss, and the consequences of power. It follows the brothers on their quest, as well as the many people they meet along the way. They encounter other alchemists, soldiers, and those who seek to take advantage of the powers they possess.

The cast of Fullmetal Alchemist features a range of talented voice actors. Romi Park voices Edward Elric, the series' protagonist. Takehiro Murozono voices Alphonse Elric, Edward's younger brother. Keiji Fujiwara voices Maes Hughes, a member of the military who becomes a good friend to the Elric brothers. Toru Okawa voices Roy Mustang, a high-ranking officer in the military.

Other notable voice actors in the series include Kenji Utsumi as Alex Louis Armstrong, a powerful alchemist with a unique personality. Yasuhiro Takato voices Winry Rockbell, a childhood friend of the Elric brothers who serves as their mechanic. Tomoyuki Shimura voices Scar, a mysterious figure with an intense hatred for State Alchemists. Yasunori Matsumoto voices Van Hohenheim, a father figure to the Elric brothers.

Hidekatsu Shibata voices Father, the main antagonist of the series. Rie Kugimiya voices Alphonse's girlfriend, who helps him and his brother in their journey. Shin Aomori and Tetsu Shiratori voice other key characters. Megumi Toyoguchi voices Lust, one of the seven Homunculi created by Father.

The animation style of Fullmetal Alchemist is distinct, featuring sharp character designs and fluid action sequences. The show also features an impressive soundtrack composed by Michiru Oshima, which adds to the overall atmosphere of the series.

In conclusion, Fullmetal Alchemist is an iconic anime series that has captured the hearts of fans around the world. Its gripping storyline, unique characters, and stunning animation make it a must-watch for any anime fan. With a talented voice cast and an incredible soundtrack, the show is a true masterpiece of the genre.
