Auf Wiedersehen Pet season 1 episode 7: Private Lives.
The lads are still in Germany but things are not going so well. Barry is in a bit of a state because he's missing his wife and kids, and Dennis is trying to get in touch with his girlfriend back home. Oz and Neville, however, are having the time of their lives. Oz has secured a job at the top of a crane, much to the amusement of the others. Neville, meanwhile, has managed to bag himself a date with a beautiful local girl.
Despite the troubles, the lads are enjoying their time in Germany. One night, while they are out drinking at a local bar, they run into a group of German soldiers who take them out for drinks. As the night draws on, the soldiers reveal that they are part of a secret society known as the Order of St George. The society is made up of high-ranking military officers who use their power and influence to get what they want. They invite the lads to join and offer them jobs with good pay and benefits.
Most of the lads are hesitant about joining, but Barry sees it as an opportunity to get away from his problems and make some money. He accepts the offer and becomes a member of the society. However, as time goes on, he begins to realise that the society is not what it seems. He becomes entangled in a web of lies and deceit and begins to question whether he made the right decision.
Meanwhile, Neville's relationship with his German girlfriend begins to blossom. He spends most of his time with her, much to the annoyance of the others. They are convinced that she is using him to get to England, but Neville is convinced that she is genuine. However, when she reveals a secret about her past, Neville begins to question whether he can trust her.
The episode explores the themes of loyalty, trust, and the lengths people are willing to go to achieve their goals. It shows the lads in a more vulnerable light, dealing with their personal problems while trying to make a living in a foreign country. It also highlights the cultural differences between Germany and England, and how these can lead to misunderstandings and conflicts. Ultimately, the episode leaves the viewer questioning whether the lads will be able to overcome their problems and whether they will make it out of Germany alive.
