Ep 3. Chapter 3: The Southern Air Temple

In Avatar: The Last Airbender, Extras - Book 1: Water season 1 episode 3, Chapter 3: The Southern Air Temple, Aang and his friends Katara and Sokka arrive at the Southern Air Temple to find it almost completely destroyed. They meet a young female Airbender named Teo, who uses a wheelchair, and his father, the inventor of the flying machines used by the Fire Nation. Through Teo, Aang discovers the devastating truth about the Fire Nation's invasion and destruction of the Air Nomads, including his own people. Aang must come to terms with this painful knowledge while also dealing with the fact that his own mentor, Monk Gyatso, may be among the casualties. Meanwhile, Zuko and his uncle Iroh continue their pursuit of the Avatar, but suffer setbacks when Zuko is once again humiliated and injured in battle. The episode draws to a close with Aang holding a traditional Air Nomad ceremony in memory of his fallen people.
