My Hero Academia, natively titled as Boku no Hiro Academia, is a Japanese animated series from 2016 that mingles the genres of superheroes, sci-fi, and dramedy. The series, which is adapted from the superhero-themed comic book of the same name, focuses on the exploits of Izuku Midoriya; while everyone has some sort of supernatural ability of one kind or another, Izuku's unique ability is the he is completely lacking in any discernible power. Despite his inherent weakness, Izuku longs to soar through the skies, shrug off laser blasts, punch through diamonds and or attain any other skill, ability or power, which would allow him to be a hero. Izuku's constant attempts to acquire any form of super-power, known in-world as a Quirk, grabs the attention of All Might, the world's greatest superhero. Inspired by the teenager's courage and determination, All Might passes on his Quirk to Izuku and enrolls him into a high school so that Izuku can learn how to use All Might's Quirk and figure out how to put it to the greatest use.
