Watch Battle Dogs

Both Najwa, the clinic director and Jordan, the filming director, rescue puppies born on the streets in Kabul. They name one of the puppies "Awjan" and the struggle to find room at the clinic and to have the funds to care for them and find forever homes.

Pen and Hannah meet a gymnastics team in Kabul called Parkour or Free Running. They are moved by the hope they express in their pursuit of their sport and hope to someday go the Olympics.

Nate, an American soldier in Kabul, cannot keep his dog, Moose, at Camp Scorpion. Pen and Hannah go to the US base to take Moose to the Nowzad Clinic and prepare him for his trip to the US where he will have his forever home in Savannah, Georgia.

Birdy is a dog that has been rescued by the Nowzad Clinic team and she is showing signs of rabies. Now the whole staff and camera crew have to be vaccinated. Over 100 people die of rabies in Afghanistan each year.

Pen and Hannah, our hosts, vaccinate cows and donkeys in a huge migrant camp on the edge of Kabul once a month. It's like a "Country and Eastern Roundup". Then they are called to rescue a kitten who has fallen into a sewer.
