In the second episode of Battlestar Galactica's fourth season, entitled "He That Believeth in Me," the members of the fleet must come to grips with the sudden reappearance of Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, who had been declared dead after an apparent crash on a dangerous mission to find Earth. Despite the fact that she seemingly perished several months prior, Kara mysteriously returns to the fleet in her old Viper fighter, claiming that she has been to Earth and has learned its coordinates. However, her strange behavior and the lack of any concrete proof of her journey to Earth cause her crewmates to question the veracity of her claims.

The episode begins with the fleet on edge as a Cylon Basestar appears out of nowhere, prompting the crew to jump to a nearby planet for safety. After the jump, Starbuck's Viper is suddenly detected by the fleet, and she is quickly taken to sickbay for examination. Despite showing signs of severe malnourishment and dehydration, she insists that she has been to Earth and provides a series of cryptic clues relating to the planet's location. However, her inability to answer basic questions about her journey and her sudden reappearance prompt Admiral Adama and President Roslin to fear that she may have been replaced by a Cylon model.

As the episode progresses, tensions rise within the fleet as various factions attempt to ascertain the truth about Starbuck's return. Baltar, still confined to his cell after his trial, begins to receive visions of Six, who tells him that he is the chosen one and that he must have faith in his destiny. Meanwhile, Starbuck's former lover, Lee "Apollo" Adama, struggles to come to terms with her sudden reappearance and her seeming inability to provide any proof of her journey. Despite his reservations, however, he eventually decides to accompany her on a dangerous mission to prove the truth of her claims.

Throughout the episode, the themes of faith and belief are central to the narrative, as various characters struggle with doubts about their own beliefs and the truth of their situations. The fragile nature of human civilization is also explored, as the members of the fleet must confront both their own mortality and the possibility of imminent attack by the Cylon forces.

Overall, "He That Believeth in Me" is a tense and gripping episode that sets the stage for the rest of the season. With its fast-paced action, complex character relationships, and exploration of deeper philosophical themes, it is a fitting continuation of the series' critically acclaimed run.
