The profile of the musical superstar and political activist who's list of friends include Bill Clinton, Jack Nicholson and Muhammad Ali. His early years started tragically when at the age of 15 his mother died of a brain aneurysm while attending her own father's funeral. This is when he threw his life into music, absorbing as much as possible from an eclectic group of artists. This is also when Paul Hewson changed his name to Bono, after a friend took the name from a hearing aid device called a Bono Vox. After answering an ad the band U2 was formed and history was made as the group became spokesmen for poverty and as political activists.
