Jefferson Pierce, also known as Black Lightning, continues to balance his duties as a superhero and principal of his high school in Freeland. In episode 4, titled "Black Jesus," Pierce is faced with a new challenge as a gang known as the 100 begins to terrorize the community with a new drug called Green Light.

As the violence and drug addiction spreads, Pierce starts to investigate the source of Green Light and how to stop its distribution. Meanwhile, his daughters Anissa and Jennifer struggle with their own personal problems. Anissa discovers a new side of herself as she begins to explore her superhuman abilities, while Jennifer becomes the target of a bully at school.

The episode also introduces a new character, Reverend Holt, who believes that Pierce is a symbol of hope for the community and encourages him to use his influence as both a superhero and an educator to inspire change. However, Pierce is hesitant to take on more responsibility, as he feels overwhelmed by the weight of his already existing duties and the danger that comes with fighting crime.

As the tension builds and the 100 become more ruthless in their pursuit of power, Pierce must decide whether or not he's willing to sacrifice everything to protect his community. Black Jesus provides an action-packed and emotional rollercoaster of an episode that will leave fans eager for more.
