Watch The Flash (2014)

Based on the DC Comic series of the same name, "The Flash" follows the story of Barry Allen, an unlikely superhero who, after being exposed to questionable chemicals and struck by lightning at the same time, gains the power of superhuman speed. Thusly, "The Flash" is born in this "Arrow" spinoff series. Allen, who works as a crime scene investigator, capitalizes on his newfound powers. Now, he's not just investigating crime scenes- he's preventing them.

As with many superhero themed shows, Flash is not alone in his endeavors. Barry will work with and face many heroes and villains from the DC universe over the course of the show. Out of these character, Barry eventually forms a team with other heroes to complete his quest.

The show highlights many ups and downs for the hero. Things begin rocky with Barry witnessing a murder of a close relative. In addition to this, he must work to exonerate the suspected perpetrator in order to bring real justice to his family member. This pursuit sets off events that will forever change the life of the scientist Barry Allen. Only the Flash will have the power to set everything right.

The Flash (2014) Full Episode Guide

  • With only 24 hours left until Savitar murders Iris, Barry struggles to save the woman he loves and makes the choice to use any means necessary to do so. Realizing he has one option left to save her, The Flash turns to Captain Cold for help.

  • Barry takes drastic measures to stop Savitar. Meanwhile, H.R. continues to push Tracy Brand to design the trap for Savitar and Killer Frost returns with an interesting proposal.

  • Barry and the team meet Tracy Brand, a scientist, who may be the key to stopping Savitar. Unfortunately, Killer Frost is also after Tracy so Team Flash must battle their old friend, which proves to be particularly difficult for Cisco. Joe and Cecile’s relationship takes a big turn.

  • In an effort to save Iris, Barry goes to the future to find out Savitar’s mysterious identity. Upon his arrival in 2024, Barry encounters future versions of his Team Flash friends in the aftermath of Iris's death.

  • The Flash takes on Abra Kadabra, a villain from Earth-19, who wants to cut a deal with him.

  • Barry and the team are shocked when Mon-El and Hank Henshaw arrive on their Earth with a comatose Supergirl who was whammied by the Music Meister. Unable to wake her up, they hope Team Flash can save her.

  • In an effort to stop Savitar and save his friends, Barry seeks answers from the speed force. H.R. counsels Jesse.

  • While training with Barry, Wally begins experiencing visions of Savitar, which he chooses to keep from the team. A dangerous secret could ruin Barry and Iris’ happiness.

  • The Flash and the team fight to stop Grodd and his army of gorillas on Earth-1 before they destroy Central City. Gypsy returns to join the fight. Jesse Quick makes a decision.

  • Barry, Caitlin, Cisco and Julian embark on a rescue mission to Earth-2 to save Jesse Quick's father from Gorilla City.

  • H.R.'s past comes back to haunt him when a bounty hunter, Gypsy, arrives to bring him back to Earth-19 to stand trial for his crime. H.R. surrenders but when Barry and Cisco find out that H.R. must fight Gypsy to the death to survive, they intercede and Cisco offers to fight Gypsy instead.

  • Barry agonizes over his vision of the future where Iris is murdered by Savitar. When a criminal named Plunder shows up in Central City, Barry realizes the villain made an appearance in his vision of the future and fears that if he catches Plunder, it will secure the demise of Iris.

  • Barry is preoccupied with threats from Alchemy and Savitar and unable to focus on the Christmas holiday, and especially his relationship with Iris. Determined to stop Savitar, Barry goes to Earth-3 to get advice from Jay Garrick.

  • In an epic crossover event, Green Arrow, the Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl respond when aliens called the Dominators strike Central City.

  • Caitlin uses her powers to save Barry but her mother's prediction comes true when her inner Killer Frost surfaces. Killer Frost goes on a rampage looking for Dr. Alchemy, abducting Julian and battling both The Flash and Vibe. Meanwhile, Joe and H.R. have a deep conversation.

  • When Wally begins dreaming of being Kid Flash, Barry realizes he must tell the truth to Wally, Iris and Joe about what happened to Wally in Flashpoint.

  • Caitlin visits her mother, Dr. Tannhauser, a renowned biomedical researcher, in an effort to gain clarity about her increasing meta-human powers.

  • Barry allows Jesse to accompany him when a new meta human, Mirror Master, appears on the scene. Mirror Master and his old partner, Top, pair up seeking revenge. Jesse is quick to join the chase but defies one of Barry's orders.

  • Barry and Team Flash are excited to meet up with Earth-2 Wells and Jesse. Wells divulges Jesse's capabilities to Barry and Caitlin and hopes they can talk her out of using her powers.

  • Barry realizes the effects from Flashpoint are more intense than he originally believed. Meanwhile, Barry meets new co-worker Julian Albert and is shocked by his immediate contempt for Barry.

  • In the third season premiere, Barry is finally living his dream life as a "normal" guy. But when he starts forgetting parts of his old life, the Reverse Flash mocks his enemy and tells him that there will be serious consequences for Barry and the ones he loves if he continues to live in this alternate universe.

  • Barry is on a quest to stop Zoom upon his discovery of Zoom's true plans.

  • After Zoom unleashes an army of Earth-2 meta-humans on Central City, Barry is stunned to discover the identity of their leader. Meanwhile, Joe becomes concerned when Wally takes to the streets to help The Flash stop the meta-humans.

  • With Barry gone, the team must determine how to deal with the return of an old enemy - Girder. Realizing Girder is retracing his steps from his last attack, Iris volunteers to lure him in to S.T.A.R. Labs. Meanwhile, Barry fights to return to his old life.

  • Zoom shows up on Earth-1 determined to take over Central City. Barry and Wells hatch a plan to stop Zoom permanently but it's extremely dangerous. Unsure if it's worth the risk, Barry reaches out to both fathers for advice.

  • Equipped with the tachyon device, Barry is convinced he's fast enough to stop Zoom and intends to open the breaches to catch him. Harry is against that plan but after Barry persuades him, Harry reveals that Cisco has the power to re-open the breach.

  • After Zoom's identity is revealed, Barry is determined to get back to Earth-2 to stop him forever. Desperate to find a way to increase his speed, Barry goes back in time and masquerades as his earlier self in order to get his arch-enemy, Dr. Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne, to teach him how to run faster.

  • Trajectory wreaks havoc on the city and it's misinterpreted as being done by Flash himself. Barry must find out who the girl is under the mask.

  • When King Shark escapes from an A.R.G.U.S. holding tank, Lila and Diggle head to Central City to issue a caution to The Flash. King Shark shows up at the West house and wreaks havoc.

  • On Earth-2, the team searches for Zoom's lair and seeks help form an unlikely source. Meanwhile, back on Earth-1, Caitlin rushes to perfect Velocity-9 so that Jay can stop the Geomancer.

  • Barry and Wells try to figure out a way to close the breaches, but their focus shifts to a meta-human nicknamed Tar Pit who can transform into liquid asphalt. Iris is concerned for Wally's safety after she finds out about his drag racing hobby.

  • When Cisco gets a vibe of Eobard Thawne, Barry and the team are in disbelief. Following an attack at Mercury Labs, Christina McGee confirms that the Reverse Flash has returned.

  • Following his intense fight with Zoom, Barry must face Mirror Master. Wally divulges a dark secret to Iris.

  • Barry tries to prevent The Weather Wizard, Captain Cold and The Trickster from assuming control of Central City during Christmas.

  • In the second major crossover event with the "Arrow" series, Vandal Savage arrives in Central City with a target on Kendra Saunders. After Vandal attacks Kendra and Cisco, they seek Barry's help.

  • Barry and the team are desperate to find an abducted Caitlin before it's too late. Meanwhile, Kendra Saunders and Patty begin to suspect Barry is hiding something from her.

  • In the aftermath of recent events, Barry decides it's time to confront Zoom and devises a dangerous plan. Caitlin supports Jay and deems it too dangerous for Barry to engage with the speed demon.

  • When Barry discovers a new breacher, Dr. Light, has passed through the portal, he is determined to capture her. Meanwhile, Jay updates Barry with info on Dr. Light.

  • When Barry and the team discover Captain Cold has been taken, they hesitantly form an alliance with his sister, Lisa.

  • Jay Garrick, a mysterious man from Earth-2, shows up at the lab issuing a warning about an evil speedster named Zoom, who is determined to destroy The Flash.

  • The second season premiere picks up months after the Singularity attacked Central City and finds Barry still struggling to forgive himself for Eddie's death. Worried he's put his loved ones in danger, Barry has pushed everyone away and has chosen to protect the city on his own.

'The Flash' Comic-Con Preview Shows Just How Fast Grant Gustin Can Run

Grant Gustin is totally getting a ticket for this. This Comic-Con exclusive promo for "The Flash" shows off just how fast the titular superhero can run, and includes a bunch of fun little easter eggs for fans, too. In the promo, we watch a small-town cop sitting in his car, doing a crossword and ignoring a couple of speeders as they go by. Then, the ground starts to rumble, and Barry Allen himself runs by, shattering the poor policeman's car and showing off Flash's speed on the radar gun.

'The Flash' Casts 'Prison Break' Star Wentworth Miller as Villain

It's official: "The Flash" has its first supervillain! "Prison Break" alum Wentworth Miller has been cast as Captain Cold in the CW adaptation of the superhero comic series and "Arrow" spinoff, according to reports coming out of the TCA conference. Those who have read the comics might be surprised to find that the show is being this faithful to the original characters.
