Rip Hunter is a time traveling agent tasked to prevent history from being interrupted or destroyed. Hunter encounters his greatest challenge to the timeline in Vandal Savage, an evil mastermind who has lived for thousands of years. Savage is bent on destroying the world and time. To stop Savage, Hunter travels back to the past to assemble a team of 21st century superheroes that will travel with him through time. Joining his team of legends are Firestorm, The Atom, White Canary, Hawkgirl, Heat Wave and Captain Cold. They are also aided at times by The Arrow and The Flash.

  • As the Legends are about to leave for their next destination, a massive timequake rocks the ship. In an effort to try and fix what has happened, they are forced to break the one cardinal rule of time travel, but will pay a major consequence.

  • After obtaining the Spear of Destiny, the Legion of Doom revises reality, affecting the Legends perhaps permanently. Shockingly, the Legends' and the world’s hopes rest with Rory.

  • The Legends plot to retrieve the final fragments of the Spear of Destiny from the Legion of Doom.

  • The Legends discover where Nate’s grandfather hid the last fragment of the Spear of Destiny. Ray’s life is left in jeopardy when he is stranded on the moon.

  • After capturing Rip, he causes the Waverider to crash, leaving the Legends stuck 70 million years in the past. Ray takes Amaya and Nate to recover a vital piece of the ship. In their plans to get the “good” Rip back, Rory suggests they enter Rip’s mind, but what Sara and Jax discover in his subconscious is disturbing and they must fight evil versions of themselves.

  • During their quest to find the Spear of Destiny, the Legends make an important discovery - pieces of the Spear are each being guarded in different time periods by members of the JSA.

  • When The Legends find a new Time Aberration they learn they must travel to the winter of 1776 to protect George Washington and the American Revolutionary War. Unfortunately, things don’t go as planned, forcing Sara to send out Nate and Amaya to help. Meanwhile, Jax and Stein who are busy protecting the incapacitated Waverider from their new enemy, are forced to step into roles that they don’t think they are prepared for.

  • The Legends are desperate to rescue Rip, but first must focus on locating the Spear of Destiny. Stein believes he has the perfect person to help but it could come at a cost. Meanwhile, Malcom Merlyn and Damien Darhk realize that Thawne is pitting them against each other.

  • When the Legends discover a new Time Aberration, they find themselves headed to 1927 Chicago. They soon realize, however, that they have been set up by Eobard Thawne, Damien Darhk and the newest member of the Legion of Doom, Malcolm Merlyn. Meanwhile, Jax encourages a reluctant Stein to share his secret with the other Legends.

  • Upon their discovery of the Dominator's plan for the world, the Legends team up with The Flash, Supergirl and Green Arrow to kill them off for good.

  • The Legends go to the Old West and discover their old friend Jonah Hex in trouble with his arch-nemesis, Quentin Turnbull.

  • After the team connects a timequake to President Reagan's White House, they are shocked to find out their old enemy Damien Darhk is now a Senior Adviser to Reagan.

  • When the Legends discover a time Aberration in 1863, they combat Confederate soldiers in the Civil War who have been turned into zombies.

  • While in Nazi-occupied Paris, the Legends are surrounded by the Justice Society of America. They discover a time aberration that threatens the JSA, but the JSA refuses their help. Meanwhile, Nate tries to prove himself.

  • When Dr. Nate Heywood, an unconventional historian, makes an unexpected discovery, he seeks out Oliver Queen for help to find the scattered Legends. Together they try to protect Albert Einstein from being kidnapped before the Nazis destroy New York City with a nuclear bomb.

  • After multiple sacrifices by the team, Rip decides they must choose their own destiny and returns them to Central City a few months after their initial departure. Back to their normal lives, each team member must individually decide if they are willing to sacrifice everything in order to save the world.

  • Being in proximity of the Time Masters leaves Rip and Rory troubled for very different reasons. Meanwhile, Sara takes over the Waverider, Kendra is reunited with Carter and Snart believes he may be a hero after all.

  • After numerous attempts in multiple time periods, the team finally captures Vandal Savage. However, Savage tells Kendra that he can reunite her with Carter, making her second guess whether she should kill him.

  • Rip takes the team to future London, three months before his family is killed. He is convinced this is their final opportunity to take out Savage who is, unfortunately, all too powerful.

  • The Pilgrim intends to erase the Legends from the timeline by killing their younger, non-superhero selves. As a protective countermeasure, Rip makes a plan to have Sara, Snart, Rory, Professor Stein and Jax kidnap their past selves before The Pilgrim gets to them.

  • The Legends go back in time to the Old Wild West and team up with a true legend who has been battling outlaws and gangs and also has a knack for time travel.

  • Rip informs the team they are headed to the future to ruin a powerful ally that Savage needs in order to conquer the world. However, when Rip reveals the ally is a 14 year-old boy who will one day grow into an evil dictator, the team struggles with killing a child, even if it does save the world.

  • The team follows Savage to a small town in Oregon during the 1950s and discover there have been a recent string of murders. They have a hunch Savage is involved, so Professor Stein and Sara go undercover to investigate.

  • When the Waverider suddenly crashes into 2046 Star City, our heroes face a shocking version of their own future where they never stop Savage and never return home. Rory is thrilled the city is overrun by criminals, while Sara is heartbroken over the condition of her home and stunned when she learns what happened to her old friend, Oliver Queen.

  • After a group of the Legends are captured and held hostage in a Russian gulag during the height of the Cold War of 1986, Snart leads the team in an elaborate escape plan to free their comrades.

  • The team searches for Vandal Savage, who mysteriously disappeared behind the Iron Curtain in the early 1980, when multiple nuclear scientists disappear.

  • Rip attempts to weaken Vandal Savage by attacking his financial assets. Rip and Sara infiltrate Savage's bank, but get caught. Meanwhile, Snart and Rory talk Jax into returning the jump ship to Central City so they can steal a valuable emerald.

  • In Part 2 of the pilot, the team follows a tip to Vandal Savage's location and infiltrates a munitions deal with Professor Stein as their leader. Surrounded by some of the most dangerous criminals in the world, things quickly spiral out of control when Savage realizes they don't belong there.

  • In the year 2166, the immortal villain Vandal Savage is on the verge of his final victory - total chaos and the utter destruction of humanity.
