Bleak Old Shop of Stuff

This BBC-produced comedy series parodies the literary works of writer Charles Dickens, its title a blend of two of his most famous works, The Old Curiosity Shop and Bleak House. The storyline revolves around Jedrington Secret-Past, his wife Conceptiva, his son Victor and daughter Victoria during the Victorian period in London. Among the Dickens' themes explored are debtor's prisons, corporal punishment in school, London's less than sanitary living conditions, and the growing gap between the most wealthy citizens of London and its poorest.
