Watch Blood on the Deck

Tempers flare hot as the team desperately tries to get on the board. Each category tempting them with the promise of huge winnings. Finally putting some blood on the deck, the team makes the long run back in to port hoping that their change in luck may place them on the podium.

As the winning team says goodbye to their fellow competitors, they excitedly await the Texas Billfish Classic. The team reunites and gets their first taste of the high stakes they are competing for, hundreds of thousands of dollars are on the line as they launch into the first day of the competition. But have the fishing gods turned their back on them?

It's the long run back in and time to head to the scales. Each team is contemplating if their bonus species will be enough to upset the current rankings. As the dials turn and the official weights come in, it is far from certain who is in the lead and the anxiety is rising. The margin of the winning team, leaves the rest in shock, but grateful for the journey they just went through together.

With only six hours remaining until "lines out" all three teams make a mad dash to grab at least one more billfish. Team Blue stumbles across the grounds run earlier by Team White and hopes to pull up something they may have missed. At the eleventh-hour Team Red pulls ahead of Team Blue with guaranteed points secured by Dakota.

It's the start of the last day for the qualifying tournament and Team White is enjoying their lead. Team Blue has managed to recover from the chaotic events of yesterday and everyone is up and back in the game. Team Red finally catches the break they are looking for and puts guaranteed points on the board.

Team White is making their way back from the setbacks faced by earlier problems, while Team Red still is battling the elements over a hundred miles away. Suddenly disaster strikes the Blue Team as a medical emergency threatens to put them on a mad run for port.

Team Red is going in to the second day without any billfish but three bonus species, though not guaranteed this allows them to breath a little easier. Team White has found themselves plagued by barracuda, an issue which threatens to put a stall on their earlier success. Meanwhile Team Blue feels confident that they may already have the points to guarantee a victory.

With two teams on the board, Team Red knows that their hopes of winning grow more distant with every hour. Team White continues to troll along at an unhurried pace. Team Blue has decided to forgo a night chasing Tuna, instead opting to pursue the more difficult bonus swordfish. There is plenty of time left, and anything can happen.

Team White takes a leisurely approach, showing off their confidence by stopping on the way out to catch some dinner. Dakota and the Easy Rider (Team Red) run into a squall which threatens to make the fighting deck a living nightmare. The cops over on Team Blue seem to make the right decision as they score the first points of the tournament. But Team White won't let them enjoy the lead for long.

Our heroes make their way to Freeport Texas where they will meet up with the captains and crews who are tasked with turning them into tournament anglers. The excitement is high and the stakes are higher, leading to some good-natured barbs and a "gift" from the blue team to the firefighters. It's anchors away as the teams make the arduous journey to the fishing grounds.
