Ep 8. The Unbearable Like-Likeness of Gene

Bob's Burgers season 3 episode 8, The Unbearable Like-Likeness of Gene, follows the Belcher family as they prepare to join a parade for the upcoming Lobsterfest. While Bob and Linda prepare their lobster-related float, Gene decides to create his own float in the theme of his favorite musical, a combination of Grease and The Warriors.

As Gene gathers materials for his float, he becomes increasingly obsessed with a street performer named Dan, who looks and acts exactly like him. The resemblance is so uncanny that even the other Belchers cannot tell them apart, causing Gene to become jealous and desperate for attention. He begins to mimic Dan's movements and mannerisms, trying to prove that he is the better Gene.

Meanwhile, Bob and Linda have their own problems with their float as their lobster statue is stolen by a rival restaurant owner. As they try to retrieve it, they encounter a series of obstacles that threaten to ruin their participation in the parade.

As the parade begins, Gene and Dan both debut their floats, with Bob and Linda watching from the sidelines. However, their attention is diverted when they see their stolen lobster statue being used in the rival restaurant's float. Bob and Linda attempt to take it back, but end up destroying the float and causing chaos in the parade.

In the chaos, Gene and Dan's floats collide, causing both of them to fall into the lobster tank on Bob and Linda's destroyed float. As they struggle to get out, the crowd mistakenly assumes that they are both part of the float and begins to cheer for them. Gene realizes that he doesn't need to compete with Dan or anyone else - he can just be himself and still be loved.

In the end, the Belchers manage to retrieve their lobster statue and make it back home safely. Gene is satisfied with his performance in the parade and Bob and Linda are relieved that their float disaster didn't ruin the festivities.
