Ep 19. Housetrap

Bob's Burgers season 5 episode 19 is titled "Housetrap." In this episode, the Belcher family gets trapped in their own basement thanks to a faulty lock. Meanwhile, Linda and the kids try to get Bob's attention while he is upstairs unaware of their situation.

As the family tries to find a way out of the basement, tensions rise and they start to take their frustrations out on each other. Louise tries to MacGyver a way out using household items, while Tina panics and Gene tries to keep everyone's spirits up.

Meanwhile, Linda attempts to get Bob's attention by calling his name repeatedly and even going so far as to crawl through the ventilation system to reach him. Bob, however, is preoccupied with a new video game he is trying to beat and doesn't even hear her.

As time ticks by and their situation becomes more dire, the family begins to hallucinate due to lack of oxygen. They see each other as giant rats, and even start to imagine that they are in a fantasy world. However, they quickly snap out of it and realize that they need to work together to escape.

Just as things seem hopeless, Bob finally realizes that something is wrong and comes to his family's rescue. Using his burger flipping skills, he manages to break down the door and free his trapped family.

In the end, the Belchers learn the importance of communication and working together, and also discover that sometimes the most unexpected skills come in handy in a crisis.
