Ep 7. I Bob Your Pardon

Bob's Burgers is an animated TV show that follows the lives of the Belcher family and their burger restaurant in a seaside town. Season 9 Episode 7, entitled "I Bob Your Pardon," is an entertaining half-hour episode about Emmy and James Beard Award-winning animated sitcom.

The episode begins with Bob and his family curating a unique and exotic Thanksgiving menu for their customers, with turkey burgers, cranberry sauce burgers, and pumpkin pie burgers. The holiday rush is causing the restaurant to be overrun, so Bob decides to take a quick break by going to the bank to deposit some of the day's earnings. However, while he is leaving the bank, Bob happens to witness a bank robbery. Trying to be a hero, he tackles the robber, who is also known as Leslie, to the ground, and gets knocked out. Talking to an officer, Bob reveals that Leslie's accomplice is still on the loose.

In the second part of the episode, the courthouse scene is set - Leslie is being questioned after being caught for his crime, and offered a plea bargain, where he agrees to testify against the other thief, in return for a lighter sentence. However, the other thief threatens Leslie, leading Bob to become worried about Leslie's safety. After reconciling himself with his act of bravery from earlier, Bob becomes more and more convinced that Leslie will get hurt once he testifies against the other thief. Feeling responsible, Bob decides to take matters into his own hands by helping Leslie to escape from prison.

In the final part of the episode, Bob takes Leslie into their home, making him promise not to rob any more banks. The Belchers try to keep Leslie hidden while Bob tries to come up with a plan to save Leslie's life, and things get progressively harder to manage as the rest of Thanksgiving's customers start to take their orders home, having no place to relax. Bob is conflicted about what to do, and eventually wonders what he would do if one of his own family members had made a mistake and were now standing up to the potential ill fate Leslie is facing.

"I Bob Your Pardon" is a delightful addition to Bob's Burgers episode guide, with a significant dose of humor, a dash of action, and some festive scenes that make this episode a fitting addition to the Thanksgiving Holiday season. A good balance is struck by having the entire Belcher family get involved in the story without any one of them seeming to be taking the story away from the other. While many TV sitcoms rely on the will-they-won't-they trope, Bob's Burgers keeps things light and fun, with no forced side-plots that detract from the show's central narrative.

Overall, this final episode of season 9, titled "I Bob Your Pardon," is an excellent addition to the series. The episode highlights the great cast of characters that make Bob's Burgers one of the most original and funny animated shows on TV. It’s well worth a watch for fans of the show.
