Ep 1. The Time of Awakening

In the first episode of Broken Blade season 1, we are introduced to a medieval world inhabited by humans who possess magical abilities. We follow the story of a young amnesiac named Rygart Arrow, who lives a peaceful life as a farmer far away from the capital city of Krisna. However, Rygart's world is turned upside down when he is visited by two childhood friends, Hodr and Sigyn, who have become skilled mecha pilots in Krisna's military.

It is revealed that Rygart possesses a rare ability to manipulate quartz, the mineral source of magic that powers the mechas. This ability makes him the only person in the world who can pilot an ancient and powerful mecha known as a golem. With Hodr and Sigyn's insistence, Rygart is convinced to go to the capital city to meet with King Hodr and General Baldr, and to use his unique ability to help defend Krisna from the invading army of Athens.

Upon his arrival, Rygart is met with a hostile reception from Krisna's other soldiers, who are resentful of his status as a non-military civilian. However, he is quickly accepted by General Baldr, who recognizes the value in his golem-piloting ability.

Meanwhile, we meet the invading Athens army, led by a zealous queen named Zess, who is intent on conquering Krisna and unifying the fractured continent under her rule. Zess uses advanced mechas known as "Delphines" to crush any opposition she faces, and has easily taken control of most of the surrounding kingdoms.

As the Athens army approaches Krisna's borders, tensions rise within the city as Baldr puts together a plan to defend against the impending invasion. Rygart works to familiarize himself with his golem, and is granted a tour of the facility where other golems are being produced and maintained. There he meets and befriends a young mecha pilot named Narvi, who is apprenticing under a renowned golem engineer named Loggin.

The episode culminates in a tense battle between the Krisna and Athens armies, as Rygart and the other golem pilots are called into action to defend their homeland for the first time. With the help of clever tactics and Rygart's unprecedented golem abilities, the Krisna army is able to fend off the initial wave of Athens mechas.

The episode ends on a cliffhanger, with the stage set for an ongoing conflict between Krisna and Athens. Rygart must navigate his way through this dangerous new world, harnessing his golem abilities and uncovering the mysteries of his forgotten past.
