As Borcuse and Rygart meet to discuss the terms of the truce, it becomes clear that Borcuse has ulterior motives. The two engage in a fierce battle, with Rygart using his unorthodox fighting style, honed through years of training without a crest, to hold his own against Borcuse.
Back at the capital, General Baldr is deeply worried about the impending attack and decides to summon all the remaining troops to reinforce the city's defenses. The final battle between Athens and Krisna is about to begin and the stakes have never been higher.
"The Gap Between Life and Death" is a tense and action-packed episode that sets the stage for the final conflict of the season. The characters are more developed than ever before, with Rygart's struggle to find his place in the army and Zess's complicated feelings for Sigyn adding depth and complexity to the story.
