Ep 8. The Black Knights

After the events of the previous episode, Lelouch and Suzaku find themselves stuck inside Narita, with Suzaku injured and no way to contact their respective sides. Meanwhile, the rest of the Black Knights are preparing to take action against Britannia in Tokyo.

The episode starts with Lelouch and Suzaku trying to come up with a plan to escape Narita and avoid getting caught by Britannian forces. Lelouch suggests using his Geass to manipulate a soldier into helping them, but Suzaku objects, preferring to rely on his own skills and not compromise his principles. Back in Narita, Lelouch and Suzaku manage to escape by disguising themselves as soldiers and using a stolen Knightmare. As they make their way back to Tokyo, they discuss their respective views on justice and the conflict between Britannia and Japan. Suzaku argues that the best way to effect change is to work from within the system and make gradual improvements, while Lelouch believes that drastic action is necessary in order to overthrow the oppressive regime.

The episode ends with the Black Knights regrouping and celebrating their victory, but also acknowledging that they still have a long way to go before achieving their goals. Lelouch and Suzaku arrive in the midst of the festivities, with Suzaku revealing that he has decided to defect to the Black Knights and work with them to bring about a better future for Japan.
