Conan Season 7 Episode 110 The Cast of "The Lego Ninjago Movie"
- July 22, 2017
Conan O'Brien welcomed the cast of "The Lego Ninjago Movie" to his show for the seventh season's 110th episode. The show, which aired on TBS, featured Dave Franco, Fred Armisen, Justin Theroux, Olivia Munn, and Zach Woods, who play key characters in the upcoming Lego film. The episode proceedings began with Conan's customary monologue, where he offered his usual humorous takes on current news events.
After the monologue, Conan introduced the cast of the Lego Ninjago movie to the show's stage. Olivia Munn, who plays the role of Koko in the movie, kicked things off by talking about how hyped she was to be involved in the project. She described her character Koko as someone who is always trying to remain positive and upbeat even in the toughest of situations, which is something she had a lot of fun doing during the film's recording session.
Next up, Conan asked Justin Theroux about his role as Garmadon, who is the film's main villain. Justin remarked that he had done several voice acting roles before, but this was his first time playing a character who is unequivocally evil. He added that Garmadon somehow had a weird charm that made audiences root for him despite his misdeeds.
Dave Franco, who plays Lloyd, the main character of the Lego Ninjago movie, spoke about how excited he was to voice a part of the Lego franchise. He explained that before joining the movie, he had minimal exposure to the Lego world but had become a big fan of it since joining the cast.
And then there was Fred Armisen, who plays Kai, one of the ninja characters in the movie. Fred talked about how he had been a lifelong fan of the Lego brand and how honored he felt to be voicing a character now. He further added that his character, Kai, was a bit of a hot-head and definitely more of a fighter than a talker.
Finally, Zach Woods, who plays Zane, the ninja robot, told us about his experience working alongside the other actors and how fun it was to be involved in a project that was so heavily based on teamwork and collaboration. He explained that the five ninjas in the movie had to work together to defeat the evil Garmadon, which made the film more exciting and engaging to watch.
Throughout the episode, the cast displayed a great deal of chemistry and camaraderie, often teasing each other and making fun of each other's characters. There were some funny moments, such as when Conan surprised Olivia with a tremendous Lego version of her character. Or when Fred Armisen explained how he had to let his 92-year-old mother know that he was now part of the Lego family.
The show closed with Conan thanking the cast and expressing his excitement about the upcoming Lego Ninjago movie. With all the wit and charm displayed by the cast members, the interview was amusing, entertaining, and gave audiences a great insight into the dynamic behind one of the year's most anticipated movies.
