After a little girl finds a dead man in the trunk of a car her mom bought, the Las Vegas CSI team is called in to investigate. The man was found wrapped in plastic with a large amount of cocaine and 35 thousand dollars cash.
The team initially suspects that the man was a drug dealer, but they find out that he was actually a bank robber who recently escaped from prison and was on the run with his girlfriend. The team tracks down the girlfriend who eventually confesses that she and the man did rob the bank but lost all the money when they were robbed by someone else.
The team discovers that the robbers who stole the money were killed in a car accident and their car was found burned and abandoned. The team recovers the money and links the robbers to a man who runs a used car lot as a front for his criminal enterprise.
