Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior
- 1 Season
Criminal Minds: Suspect Behaviors is a spin off of the hit Criminal Minds. Like its predecessor, Suspect Behaviors focuses on a team of FBI agents who are tasked with developing the motive and thought process of a killer or criminal to eventually solve the case and catch the bad guy. The concept is fairly straight-forward and mimics the cop dramas that have been heavily featured on network TV for decades, but unlike the more traditional shows, this one deals more closely with the psychology behind the crime. Samuel Cooper (Forrest Whittaker) is the chief of the Behavioral Analysis Unit, or the BAU. This fictional unit is an offshoot of the FBI and is tasked with solving the most despicable of cases, often rapes and serial murders. Cooper leads the group as they navigate each case, which is developed and shot to stand alone as an independent episode. Beth Griffin (Jeneane Garofolo) is a Senior Supervisory Special Agent and is often looked for to take the lead on difficult cases. Cooper has a tendency to confide in Griffin about his personal life, as well. There are several other agents involved in the show as well as an IT expert. Penelope Garcia (Kristen Vangsness) reprises her role as an analyst in Suspect Behavior. Each episode finds the crew gathering intel on their most recent case. The team must first research then fly to the location across the country to work on hard-to-crack cases of murders, serial rapes, and a variety of other disturbing crimes. The goal of the BAU is to get inside the mind of the criminal, form an understanding of his behavior and his thinking pattern, and solve the crime from the inside out. The crew relies on true-to-life forms of profiling that are used by a variety of different agencies to catch criminals.
