Hotaru and Kokonotsu are working at the candy store when they encounter a young girl named Hajime. Hajime is a first-year student at their school and she's in search of a specific candy. She asks for Hotaru's help, but Hotaru is distracted by her own search for a rare candy.

As the search continues, Hajime reveals that she's trying to find the candy for a boy she likes. This sparks a discussion between Hotaru and Kokonotsu about crushes and how they can drive people to do crazy things.

Throughout the episode, the group tries various candies and snacks, but they all fall short of the candy that Hajime is trying to find. Eventually, Hotaru takes matters into her own hands and goes on a solo mission to find the candy.

In the end, Hotaru is successful in finding the candy and Hajime is overjoyed. She takes the candy to the boy she likes and we see a sweet exchange between the two of them.

Meanwhile, Kokonotsu's father, You, has returned from a business trip and brings back some new flavors of the popular soda, Ramune. He challenges Kokonotsu and Hotaru to a taste test between the new flavors and the original flavor. The taste test becomes intense, as everyone has differing opinions on which flavor is the best.

The episode ends with Hajime returning to the candy store to thank Hotaru for her help and to bring her a special treat as a token of her appreciation.
