In Darker Than Black season 1 episode 15, "Memories of Betrayal in an Amber Smile, Part 1," we are introduced to a new character - November 11. He is an assassin who works for MI6 and is employed by the British government. His ability is to create and control sonic waves, which he can use to attack his enemies and disrupt their sense of balance.
The episode starts with November 11 being sent to Tokyo to retrieve an item for his employer. However, he soon realizes that there are other organizations also interested in the same item, and they're willing to go to extreme lengths to get it. November 11 finds himself caught up in a game of cat and mouse, as the other organizations try to outmaneuver him and steal the item.
Along the way, November 11 comes across a woman named Kirsi, who is a Finnish geneticist. She is being chased by an organization known as Section 3, who want to use her research for their own purposes. November 11 decides to help Kirsi, as her research could be valuable to him in the future.
As November 11 and Kirsi attempt to evade their pursuers, they run into Hei and Yin (two of the main characters from previous episodes). Hei is also after the same item that November 11 is after, but for different reasons. Hei has been tasked with retrieving the item by a mysterious organization known as the Syndicate.
Hei and November 11 initially clash, as they both have different objectives and are not sure if they can trust each other. However, they soon realize that they have a common enemy - Section 3 - and a fragile alliance is formed.
The episode ends with November 11 and Kirsi being captured by Section 3, and Hei and Yin planning their rescue. The stage is set for an action-packed showdown in the second part of the episode.
Overall, "Memories of Betrayal in an Amber Smile, Part 1" is a tense and thrilling episode that introduces a new character and sets up an exciting clash between different organizations. The episode does a good job of building suspense and intrigue, as we learn more about the item that everyone is after and the different factions involved in the plot. The action sequences are well choreographed, and the episode leaves the viewer wanting more.
