Ep 9. Malcolm: Arson Dog & Corky: Guiding Eyes

Malcolm: Arson Dog & Corky: Guiding Eyes is the ninth episode of season one of the television show Dogs with Jobs. The episode introduces the audience to two incredible dogs, Malcolm and Corky, who perform very special jobs.

Malcolm is an arson dog, and he works with his handler, LeeAnn, at the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. Malcolm's job is to sniff out the presence of accelerants in fires. He goes to the site of a fire and uses his sensitive nose to identify whether or not an accelerant, such as gasoline, may have been used to start the fire. Malcolm underwent intense training to learn his job, and he is now one of just a few hundred certified arson dogs in the United States.

In this episode, Malcolm and LeeAnn are called to a house fire in a rural area of Colorado. The homeowners were out of town when the fire occurred, and their neighbors reported seeing a suspicious vehicle in the area around the time of the fire. Malcolm goes to work, sniffing out any accelerants that may have been used. His investigation will be critical in determining whether or not the fire was intentionally set.

Corky, the other dog featured in this episode, is a guide dog. She works with her handler, Sara, to help those who are blind or visually impaired navigate the world. Corky underwent extensive training to become a guide dog, including learning how to detect potential hazards and safely guide her handler around obstacles.

Sara lost her vision due to a medical condition, but she hasn't let that stop her from leading a full and active life. With Corky by her side, Sara is able to navigate busy streets and crowded stores with ease. The two have an incredible bond, and Corky always stays focused and alert, ready to guide Sara wherever she wants to go.

In this episode, Corky and Sara take a trip to a crowded shopping center so that Sara can do some holiday shopping. Corky expertly navigates the crowds and leads Sara to all the stores she wants to visit. Along the way, they encounter several challenges, but Corky is always one step ahead, alerting Sara to potential dangers and guiding her safely through each obstacle.

Both Malcolm and Corky are incredible animals who are making a difference in the lives of people. This episode of Dogs with Jobs showcases their unique talents and highlights their importance in their respective fields. Viewers will gain a new appreciation for the hard work and dedication of these amazing dogs and their handlers.
