Ep 10. A Moorland Holiday

Lord Grantham is not doing too well. His beloved dog has passed away, and as he continues to board on a train back from the funeral with Tom, Rose, and Mary, things take a turn for the worse. The train has come to a halt due to a landslide, and the group finds themselves stranded in the middle of nowhere on the moors. With no visible way out, they're forced to take refuge in a hunting lodge and wait for the storm to pass.

As they wait, they entertain themselves with various activities, such as board games, dancing and discussing their future plans. However, tensions rise and secrets are revealed as both Rose and Tom unexpectedly find out some painful truths about their respective situations. Meanwhile, Mary confides in Anna and Bates about her troubled marriage to Tony, and they offer her some advice from their own experiences.

Lady Edith seizes the opportunity to enjoy some freedom during her stay in London with a friend, but as she finally takes charge of her life things take a terrible turn, which leaves her heartbroken. Carson and Mrs. Hughes have a heart to heart about their future, and it becomes clear that they each have different priorities. Finally, Isobel receives some unexpected news which will change her life forever.

A Moorland Holiday is the final episode of the fifth season of Downton Abbey, and it delivers all the usual drama and intrigue we've come to expect from the show.
