In the second episode of season two of Earth's Natural Wonders, viewers are taken on a journey through some of the world's harshest and most unforgiving environments, where humans and animals must work together to survive.

From the scorching deserts of Africa to the frozen tundra of the Arctic, this episode explores the unique relationships that have developed between people and animals in some of the toughest places on Earth. In these harsh landscapes, humans have learned to rely on the instincts and abilities of their animal counterparts to find food, shelter, and water.

One story follows a group of camel herders in the Sahara desert, who must navigate the treacherous sand dunes with their trusty camels to find water. Along the way, they encounter other desert creatures, like the elusive Fennec fox, which has adapted to the harsh conditions by having oversized ears that help dissipate heat.

Another story takes viewers to the remote tundra of the Canadian Arctic, where the Inuit people have built a unique relationship with the beluga whale. For centuries, the Inuit have relied on these intelligent and social creatures to help them navigate the treacherous waters of the Arctic, and to provide them with food and raw materials.

But not all animal relationships are quite so friendly. In one segment, viewers witness the incredible hunting skills of the honey badger, which has learned to take on some of the most fearsome animals in the African savannah, including lions and snakes. We learn how its sharp teeth, reinforced skin, and fierce determination make it one of the deadliest animals on the planet.

Finally, viewers are introduced to a fascinating example of symbiosis in the jungles of Borneo, where a species of ant has made a home inside the thorny branches of the Acacia tree. In exchange for providing shelter, the tree receives protection from predators, as the ants attack anything that tries to harm their home.

Through these and other incredible stories, Earth's Natural Wonders takes viewers on a journey of discovery, showing how animals and humans have adapted to some of the most extreme environments on our planet. It is a testament to the resilience and ingenuity of life in the face of adversity, and a celebration of the enduring bond between man and nature.
