Grantchester is a mystery series set in 1950s Cambridgeshire based on the "The Grantchester Mysteries" books written by James Runcie. Set in the town of Grantchester, nearby Cambridge in England, Anglican vicar Sidney Chambers becomes involved in solving a series of murders with the help of the somewhat reluctant and grumpy Detective Inspector Geordie Keating.

The series involves a number of complications, including romantic ones as Vicar Chambers has a long-time romantic interest in Amanda Keating, whose father has arranged a marriage for her, and in German widow Hildegard Staunton, whose husband is one of the mysterious deaths investigated.
