The East-West Shrine Game is an annual college football exhibition game held for seniors who have completed their eligibility and are preparing for the NFL draft. The game has been played every year since 1925, making it one of the oldest college football all-star games in the country. The game is designed to showcase the talents and skills of college football players from across the country, and to provide NFL teams with an opportunity to evaluate their potential as professional football players.

The game has a unique format, featuring two teams made up of players from different regions of the country. The East team is composed of players from schools located east of the Mississippi River, while the West team is made up of players from schools located west of the Mississippi. This format allows for regional rivalries to be showcased on the field, as well as providing players with an opportunity to compete against some of the best talent from across the country.

The game is typically held in January, during the week leading up to the NFL's championship game, the Super Bowl. It is played at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, and is broadcast live on NFL Network. The game is also streamed online, providing fans with access to live coverage of the game no matter where they are located.

In addition to the game itself, the East-West Shrine Game also provides players with a week of practices and workouts leading up to the game. This gives NFL teams an opportunity to see how the players perform in a practice setting, as well as allowing the players to showcase their skills in front of NFL coaches and scouts. The practices and workouts are intense, with players undergoing drills and exercises to test their speed, agility, strength, and endurance.

Beyond the game itself, the East-West Shrine Game also has a strong philanthropic component. The game is sponsored by the Shriners Hospitals for Children, and a portion of the proceeds from the game go to support the hospitals and their work providing pediatric medical care. In addition, players who participate in the game visit the hospitals to meet with patients and provide encouragement and support to them and their families.

Overall, the East-West Shrine Game is an exciting and unique football event that brings together top college football players from across the country. With a unique format, strong philanthropic component, and opportunities for NFL scouts to evaluate the next generation of professional football players, the game is a must-see for any football fan. Whether you're a fan of college football or the NFL, the East-West Shrine Game is an exciting opportunity to see some of the best players in the game showcase their skills on the field.
