Elizabeth Stanton's Great Big World is a travel and adventure show that takes viewers to some of the most incredible destinations around the globe. In season 3 episode 15, titled "Life Below the Surface," Elizabeth Stanton and her team explore the wonders of the underwater world.

The episode begins with a breathtaking montage of coral reefs, exotic fish, and other sea creatures. Elizabeth explains that the oceans are home to some of the most diverse ecosystems on the planet. Despite covering more than 70% of the Earth's surface, only a fraction of the ocean has been explored by humans. Elizabeth and her team are on a mission to dive deeper into the secrets of the sea.

The first stop on their journey is the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. The reef is the largest living structure in the world and is home to thousands of different species of fish, sharks, and other creatures. Elizabeth and her team meet with local marine biologists who study the reef's ecosystem and work to protect it from threats like climate change and pollution. They also join a group of divers on a mission to map the reef's coral formations and record any changes in its health over time.

Next, Elizabeth travels to the Caribbean to explore the stunning coral reefs off the coast of Belize. She meets with a group of marine archaeologists who are uncovering the secrets of ancient shipwrecks that lie beneath the waves. Using advanced technology and careful excavation techniques, they are able to piece together the stories of the sailors who once sailed these waters. Elizabeth even gets to dive down and explore one of the wrecks herself, experiencing the thrill of discovery firsthand.

The team then heads to the Pacific Ocean to explore the mysterious world of deep-sea creatures. They join a team of researchers on an underwater expedition to the Mariana Trench, the deepest part of the ocean. Using specialized submersibles, they are able to descend more than 36,000 feet to the ocean floor. There, they encounter creatures that have never been seen by humans before, including giant squid, deep-sea anglerfish, and other bizarre creatures that have evolved to survive in the extreme conditions of the deep sea.

Finally, the team heads back to the surface to learn about the threats facing the world's oceans. They visit an ocean conservancy center where they learn about the devastating impact of plastic pollution on marine life and the importance of reducing our use of single-use plastics. They also meet with a group of activists who are working to protect endangered species like sea turtles and dolphins from harm.

Throughout the episode, Elizabeth and her team showcase the beauty and diversity of the world's oceans while also highlighting the urgent need for conservation and environmental protection. With stunning footage of underwater landscapes and fascinating insights from experts in marine biology and oceanography, "Life Below the Surface" is a must-watch for anyone interested in the natural world.
