Ep 6. Emily and...The Question Of Faith

In Emily Owens, M.D. season 1 episode 6 titled "Emily and... The Question Of Faith," Emily is faced with a dilemma when a patient requests a risky surgery that could potentially lead to serious complications. The patient, a young woman named Amanda, suffers from a rare genetic condition that has caused her to experience chronic pain for most of her life. Meanwhile, Emily's personal life is also thrown for a loop when her ex-boyfriend Will returns to the hospital as a new surgical intern. Emily is forced to confront her unresolved feelings for Will, which are complicated by the fact that he is also her roommate's boyfriend.

As the episode progresses, Emily struggles to balance her personal and professional obligations while also grappling with the question of faith. Ultimately, she must make a difficult decision about Amanda's surgery, and in doing so, confront her own beliefs about medicine, faith, and the limits of what humans can accomplish.

Through all of this, Emily learns important lessons about the importance of facing difficult choices with courage and conviction, even in the face of uncertainty and doubt. Ultimately, she emerges from her experiences stronger and more confident in her abilities as a doctor and as a person.
